Lessons from a borrowed Tomb

Luke 24:2...."And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher.”

The things considered by men as objects of restraint are seen in heaven as objectives only to be achieved by the supernatural.
The stone was huge and it was sealed and secured by the Roman guard.  Notice particularly that the stone had no hinges indicating that it was only temporary, never to be closed again once it had been removed.  Henceforth, death’s prison house is without a door leaving it an open cavern.  The saints shall pass through it but they shall not be shut in.  There is nothing to prevent them from coming forth in due time.  The first words uttered by our Lord when he came forth from the tomb were “All Hale, be not afraid.”  Meaning, there is nothing to fear from the grave, I've been there and I’m back and I’m alright!  O grave where is thy victory, O death where is thy sting! Christ resurrection took the sting out of death!
On this special occasion we celebrate the cornerstone and foundation of our faith, that being the resurrection of the lamb of God, slain from the foundation of the world!  And because He lives we shall live also!  The event of His resurrection is verified by every flower that blooms, every bird that sings, by the babbling brook and the roaring of the sea.  It is testified to by every breath we breathe and by every step we take.  Today He is Lord of lords and King of kings, Hallelujah!

Are You A Christian?

Acts 11:25 & 26
"Then departed Barnabus to Tarsus for to seek saul: and when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch.  And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people.  And the discipes were christians first in Antioch."

Let us consider the word "christian" in two areas of modern thinking,  first as it applies to the church of today and then as it is applied to our culture.  Sometime's great truths are lost to the interpetations of men in their pursuits of even greater truths which I believe is the sad plight of the Biblical term "Christian".   I contend that the word Christian was first applied to those born again believers who had experienced the blessings of the teachings of Jesus Christ.  However in todays society their is another concept of the word Christian which applies only to those of our christian culture.  I fear that there are many who are culture christians only and who have never experienced the effects of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  So it is at this juncture of our christian lives where we must examine the meaning of the word "Christian"  as it applies to each of us personally.  Are we christian only as it applies to a christian culture or are we christians because of our experience with the man Jesus Christ.  Let us examine ourselves to see whether or not we are of the faith embracing the true concept of the biblical term "Christian".
